Usergroup Application (CHUG) – Looking for Feedback

We are looking for Feedback for the User group Website Manager Application ( Not just for “Coldfusion” user groups ). If you are interested in the CHUG application and it is missing something that is stopping you from using it for your user group website, or you just want to give us some feedback, we are interested in your comments.

Coldfusion User Group Manager is a CFML application originally designed to help Adobe ColdFusion User Group managers run their user group web site and manage members, speakers, and other user group data. This application was originally created by Matt Woodward for the Capitol Hill User Group, hence the nickname “CHUG.”

CHUG is easily skinned, i18n capable, and leverages the Mach-II and ColdSpring frameworks.

Additionally, if you wish to get started with this Application but your not sure where to start, leave a comment, and I will do my best to get you on track.

Edit: Sorry, here is the link to the Google Code project http://code.google.com/p/chug/

CFCAMP AU – Ben Forta is coming to Brisbane.

Yes, November 21 sees Ben Forta – long term ColdFusion Guru traveling to our fair city for one day only.

Not only will Ben be wowing us with the hottest stuff in the latest release of ColdFusion but also showing us Fusioneers how it integrates in with Flex and AIR.

The event is a community driven hands-on “camp” so all are welcome – and to suggest topics and even participate. Less stuffy-shirt “roadshow”, more “show us the code!” heckling from the cheap seats… for more info contact manager@qld.cfug.info

Dates:
Brisbane – 21st of November at the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Center, Southbank.

as well as

Sydney – 20th of November at Rydges World Square
Melbourne – 22nd of November at Crown Promanade
Perth – 27th of November at Hyatt Regency

More information as I get it.

Busy with Coldfusion

Just a quick post to touch on some of the things I’ve been busy with over the last 12 months.

CHUG (ColdFusion User Group Manager).
The Coldfusion User Group Manager Application has been written for use by Coldfusion usergroups around the world.

I have been committing back to the project as well as the local Coldfusion community as I work on our very own Queensland Coldfusion Usergroup website. The new website recently released and running the CHUG application. Visit the CFUG QLD website @ http://qld.cfug.org.au/. Still a work in progress with more on its way.

Work on my Timesheet Flex/AIR application has been put on hold for the moment, with very early a concept plans for a newer, better version in the future. More on this later in the year.

Been trying to assist my Wife in a strong interest in photography, as well as learn a bit myself. Infact, if you like you can check out some of photos from our recent trip to Bundaburg at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaffien/

Have also been very busy with the guys and girls at my current work place with some further exciting developments taking place.

I hope to post more info on the subjects above in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Brisbane (QLD) Australia Coldfusion 8 Party.

Coldfusion 8 is finally here and we are celebrating with the rest of Australia. Come and join us on this Wednesday, the 6th of August 2007. This national usergroup meeting is to be the start of a fantastic future for the Coldfusion Community and the Coldfusion Product within Australia. If your not currently attending Coldfusion usergroups for what ever reason, now is the time to change, including plans for better content, a new website and more are well on there way, and the best of all “IT’S FREE” to attend.

All it takes is a couple of hours once a month to get the latest on news, information, a chance to socialise, to get to know and find out what people in the Community are doing with Coldfusion and other closely related technologies.

Read more for further details in your State.
